Raw food diet danger: How to avoid

There's a raw food diet danger. You need to be aware of it so you can avoid it....

Raw organic foods are alive, that's why we like it. It's full of enzymes, easy to absorb minerals, it's alkaline and life force. But it has bacteria in as well. Normally, this isn't a problem. But sometimes these bacteria are harmful - as I recently found out when I came home from a restaurant. Food poisoning. It wasn't fun and I feel I should write about this raw food diet danger so you can stay away from this unpleasant experience.

How to avoid the raw food diet danger of food poisoning? Of course, when preparing raw food it's important to be hygienic and store your edibles safely. But for raw food that's even more important. Parasites, molds and bacteria might be in your raw food it's important to be hygienic and store your edibles safely.

There are some simple ways to avoid these dangers. Some or them even more effective than cooking...

Raw Food Diet Danger: Food Poisoning

Food poisoning is an illness caused by bacteria or other toxins in food. Symptoms of food poisoning are typically vomiting and diarrhea. These three can make you really sick:

  • Bacteria;
  • Parasites;
  • Molds.

Bacteria

Animal foods are the biggest source of bacteria. I'm sure you know about salmonella in eggs or chicken, listeria in pate's or cheese and e-coli in meat. If you prepare raw food it's important to be hygienic and store your edibles safely. But for raw food in a kitchen where these foods are prepared you have to be extra careful when you use cutting boards, knifes and plates. And make sure you wash your hands before preparing your food...

Parasites

I used to go to a kinesiologist who liked eating everything raw except for animal foods. She said they were full of parasites and worms and advised me to eat all foods raw except when comes from an animal, including meat (filet american, steak tartar), sushi, raw cow's cheese....

You should know thought that cooking doesn't destroy all parasite eggs and it is no guarantee to avoid these yacky creatures. (Otherwise, people who cooked their meals wouldn't have so many parasites. But, it's thought that 95% of the western people has some worms or parasites!)

Molds

Molds, fungus and yeasts. Some are relatively harmless, some can make you very sick. You may find them in mushrooms, cheese, sprouts, peanuts, other nuts, seeds and grains. etc. And as with the parasites, cooking them is not a guarantee for avoiding them. Think of cheeses and old bread, all cooked...

How to avoid the raw food dangers?

  • Always wash hands before preparing and eating your meals.
  • Buy only foods from sources you trust.
  • Refrigerate your food.
  • Don't leave edibles out of the fridge for more than two hours (especially the pate's, nut milks and animal foods)
  • Use food grade hydrogen peroxide to disinfect your food (1 drop is more effective than cooking)
  • Use one of these water ozonaters (as sold at sharper image) to disinfect your food.
  • Don't eat in restaurants where food isn't prepared fresh, hygiene is practiced strictly or where few people come to eat...
  • Do a parasite cleanse at least twice a year.

If you follow these rules, you should be able to enjoy your raw food safely without the raw food diet danger: food poisoning.
